I set the washer to cold, and I get hot water.
I set the washer to hot, and I get cold water.
I set the washer to warm, and get warm water but a hot rinse cycle.

If I reverse the hoses to "fix" the problem, it works okay for a few days/weeks and then switches back.

From my research it seems I need one or both of a new valve or a new temperature switch. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me determine which of these is the problem, if both need replacement, or if I'm on the wrong track entirely.

Thanks.

You need a new temp switch. There was a problem with the software in some of these switches which triggered the automatic hose reversal feature. New switches have updated software.
