so ptc, cap and adc board replaced, compressor still buzzes and clicks on a steady cycle. while nothing gets cold, the compressor is hot. all fans workings normally.

and to correct the post, this fridge is 12 years old....

I tested the points on the compressor. I don't know which is the start winding and which is the run. I believe it to be:

top point -common
lower left - start
lower right -run

so, top and left (start) = 5.1 ohms
top and right (run) = 3.4 ohms
left and right = 8.1 ohms (roughly)

each reading bounced around a bit and settled down, except for the left and right reading which fluctuated between 8.2 and 7.9.

does this mean the compressor is bad?

based on my research, it seems like I've already repaired the usual suspects in this issue (ptc, capacitor, adaptive defrost control board) and the only thing left is the compressor.

I'm pretty much convinced a new fridge is in my future, but just wanted to double check on here first.
