My washer will not finisher a wash cycle. In fact, it only runs a few minutes and then simply shuts off without an error message. It will complete the Rinse/Drain & Spin cycle and the Clean Washer cycle but nothing else. I recently discovered that my tenant has been using regular detergent instead of the HE detergent. I've read that this is not advisable but nowhere have I found what part gets damaged to stop the machine from finishing a wash cycle. One post I read said that regular detergent "gums up" the washer. So, what part needs to be cleaned or replaced?

The water main is currently being replaced on my street so I've considered low water pressure but wouldn't that affect all cycles including the two that still work?

Is the main controller board malfunctioning or something else?

Any suggestions?
