Bought this dryer new when I moved in the house 7 years ago. I keep it properly cleaned. The dryer started squeaking about a week ago. It takes a few (5-10) minutes before the squeaking starts, and it is intermittent Not Constant Yet. How can I repair it before it gets worse? Thank you, Gene

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire GLEQ2152ES0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comTry to isolate the noise to a certain area on the machine. At the front - could be one or both of the felt seals. At the bottom - could be the idler wheel or motor. At the back - could be the support bearing. This is the most likely cause. At the back of the unit there should be an access panel. Remove it and the ball bearing. Be careful as the ball bearing likes to jump out and play hide and seek which can waste a lot of your time. Then put a drop of oil into the support bearing. If the racket stops then you know that it is the problem. You will then have to take the unit apart. Check the bearing for wear. If OK Clean the bearing and re-lube it with a high temperature grease. Would also be a good time to check the other parts re: belt etc., give the interior a good cleaning and check/clean your vent system. |
