OK, the Owner's Manual says there will be stranger-than-normal noises with this newest-and-greatest of their GE technology.

I have no problem with the strange "fits and starts" sounds, but not long after getting the machine, it started having REALLY loud, "I'm gonna blow myself up!" sounds during the spin cycle upon initial spin-up.

I initially thought is was because of the "loose" agitator of this model, but (after closer listening/observation) I've narrowed it to a sound coming from the entire wash drum/basin during this initial spin-up.

What's strange is that I can open the top, move the wash drum/basin around, close the lid, and the noise dissipates for a while (i.e., for a couple of loads); then it comes back.

Any thoughts from the experts would be appreciated. Unfortunately, I don't have a good diagram to look at to troubleshoot further.

Thanks for your kindness and help!
