HI---We have a GE Monogram refrigerator freezer with the configuration of the freezer as a drawer below the fridge. Someone in my household took something out of the freezer last night, and a package fell in back of the pull-out drawer within the freezer, blocking the vent and not letting the freezer close completely. This morning, I discovered the freezer making a loud motor noise. I found the package blocking the vent and removed it and closed the freezer door properly. For a minute the noise stopped. Then it returned. It only stops if I open the freezer door.
Looking online, I see it might be a problem with the evaporation motor.
This is my problem: I have called the GE Monogram service, and the earliest they can come is Thursday. I am leaving tomorrow, Wednesday, and will be back in a week. Do I dare leave the refrigerator in this condition and just come back a week later to deal with it?
I would much appreciate some knowledgeable feedback!
