My whirlpool dryer will not heat or advance during auto cycle but will heat under the timed dry setting. It blows air and tumbles during auto setting but does not heat or advance. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Thank you for our input. Also, today I noticed that the only time the dryer puts out any heat is during the low heat timed dry cycle. The high heat is not working at all. Does this still seem like a timer issue to you or perhaps something different?

Yes, I still believe it's the timer.
