Dishwasher won't dry. I'm thinking this is an easy fix. After troubleshooting, I am stumped. I put it in diagnostics mode and found that the element is good because it heats water in step 9. However, the element does not get hot in step 1, where it is supposed to be drying. The thermal switch must be good because it is closed and let's the dishwasher heat water. I checked the controller output to the heater and it is on in step 9, but off in step 1. The thermostat reads 48kOhm at room temp, which is correct. What else could it be but the control board, right? I replaced the control board, but get same behavior.

Anyone have additional suggestions?

Thanks,

Stumped

Did you find a solution to this problem?
Just curious as I am also stumped.

I would also have thought it was the control board.
It would be very very strange that you would get a control board with exactly the same problem but I guess anything is possible.

The only difference I can see in the water heating and the dry circuits is that the thermistor is not part of the control electronics. Dry is just a timed event.

The below is just reaching for straws.
Are you absolutely sure that the heater does not come on?
The reason I ask is that sometimes the dishes will not dry but it is due to a vent problem not a heater problem.
Have you monitored the heater voltage during an actual dry cycle?
