frigidaire cfef372ec2 oven. Installed a new bottom oven element that turned out to be about 1/2" to long at the connections and shorted itself to the back oven wall when first used. Removed the new element and installed a proper sized one. Now the bottom element and the broiler will not work, but EVERYTHING else does, even the top stove burners. The display will even show that it is starting the preheat cycle when asked to turn the oven on. I have removed the rear wall of the unit, and saw nothing (other then the black spot where it shorted on the rear cover) of concern. Thoughts?

Damn. Part unavailable on the site you linked, and a google search seems to show its discontinued. This isn't an old stove.

There are companies out there that will repair obsolete appliance timers/control boards.
Just Google "appliance timer repair"
