I've been getting the Error Code 63 once every 6 months for about 3 years now, and in the past could be reset and ran as normal.

Just last week I got it continually and would not reset, so I tore the dryer down. The heater coil and limit measured fine, so I reseated the thermostat, heater coil, and limit terminations, and surprisingly it ran as normal.....for almost one dryer cycle, now faults continually again.

Since this has been going on for so long, so assuming my wiring is not shorted to ground (when apart nothing was obvious but I will recheck again) do I have a flaky control board or can the heating element really fail in a gradual manner over a number of years?

Thanks in advance.
