Maytag gas dryer will start up fine, the pilot will glow and the flame will start. It stays hot for about 5 minutes and then stops heating. I removed the exhaust tube from the back and it stayed hot for about 15 minutes and then the flame went out. I let the cycle continue to run for about 10 minutes to see if it would kick back on and I noticed that periodically the pilot would glow but the gas never kicked on and lit. This happened a couple of times after the flame went out over the course of probably 10 minutes.
Also, this was in auto mode and the timer did not advance, still at the very beginning of more dry. I then ran the dry in timed mode and the timer advanced as normal.
Any ideas on what could be the problem?

I just ordered the coils and a thermofuse as well. They should be at my house tomorrow. I will install and cross my fingers.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I will share the results.
Thanks!
