Machine has stopped filling. Sometimes it will fill but not consistent. I cleaned float, checked the switch for continuity its ok. checked the fill valve solenoid and screen both good. voltage to fill solenoid is only 40 vac. what would cause this. Solenoid is 120vac stamped on it.

A model number may be useful. Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.comYes the water valve should get 120 volts. Check across the switch/valve combo they are usually wired in combo. Perhaps the switch has a high contact resistance. Could be there is a problem with the wiring from the control board down to the valve/switch combo. I would check it with a meter at the board. If the above is OK then odds are that the control board is shot. |

Without a model number I cannot tell you exactly where to put your probes.
One side of the water valve should go up to the control panel. The other side should go to the overfill switch. Then the other side of the overfill should go up to the control panel. So you want the two wires that go up to the control panel.
If you cannot trace the wires you should be able to at least use their color to sort out which is which. |

yes place the probes on the two wires (brown from solenoid blue from sw) call for fill, get 37volts. not enough to move the coil

Sounds like the control board is shot if it uses one. |
