the ice maker melts, freezer temp rises from -2 to 9 degrees, refrigerator goes from 37 to 48 degrees, melted ice refreezes in in freezer making an iceberg. it may be good for a few weeks or even a month then suddenly it happens. i replaced the mother board wr49x10152 and the defrost limiter t-stat, it happened 3 days later, . I suppose I need to pull it out from the wall and check to see if the compressor is running when this happens.

Good idea, let us know what happens. Also, verify the condensing fan is running.

You should check the evaporator thermistors. This part monitor the temperature inside freezer and trigger the defrost coil. If it fails, the ice cube will melt and become iceberg.

small evaporator in fridge seems to frees up after a month or so and the fridge looses ability to maintain temp because the coils are getting frozen over. i don't see how this defrosts, no heater or sensor on this. i frequently hear the freezer defrost kicking on.
