Trying to get our oven back in action. When using the oven before it went out there was a hot electrical smell. Then the clock started acting flashing spazticaly when opening the door. Then everything just totally went out and had no power. I opened up the back of and tried to smell around to see where the hot smell was coming from and it seemed like it was the main board/clock. So I thought I would just replace it. So I did. Then after plugging it in and turning the breaker on.....nothing. After turning knobs and pressing buttons. I realized that I could get a beep out of it and the clock would come one after i turned the knob to turn the burner on. But the burner wouldn't heat up. tried turning the oven on but that didn't hear either.
Is there an internal fuse?
Any ideas what I can try next?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram. Parts for Frigidaire GLEF379DCH Range - AppliancePartsPros.comThere is no fuse in the unit that would kill power to the control board. Check the wiring from the terminal strip to the control board. Do this with the unit unplugged. Could be a power problem. Your control board runs off of 120 volts (L1 to Neutral). What can happen if you loose the L1 side of the line is that the L2 side of the line can feed through an infinite switch when on and this then powers up the board. I would start by checking your power. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! I am going to the cottage for a few days so will not be available. When the forum is busy if other regular posters see that the post is being answered they do not have the time to check the post. So If you require help when I am gone you may want to start a new post with a blurb about what you have done so far and a link to your original post. |
