My dryer works fine on timed cycles but won't stop running on automatic cycles.
Moisture sensors are fine and I've cleaned the vent. I have replaced the thermostat that was not working properly.
What else can I do?

Here are your parts
Parts for Amana YNED7200TW0 / - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for a tech sheet.
Note it is for a NED not a YNED unit so yours may differ some.
the Y often designates a Canadian unit.

Check the moisture sensor see Page 8.
Use a high ohms scale on your meter.
If OK then odds are that the control board is bad.

FYI: The way the moisture sensor works is:
When there is moisture between the strips there is a circuit path and the timer does not advance.
When there is no moisture, there is no circuit path (infinite resistance) and the timer advances.

Thanks, but moisture sensor is not the issue, this is the first part I checked.

Anything else besides the control board that I can check? (and is there a way to check the control board?)

There is really nothing else you can check as manufacturers do not publish schematics of the boards.

Last question: after I replaced the thermostat, the dryer is overheating (which was not an issue before, when I had a bad thermostat).

Is it possible there is something wrong with the heating element, and that causes the automatic cycle to not function properly? (or maybe I did something unintentionally when I opened the dryer?)

Which thermostat did you replace?
OR was it the thermistor you replaced?

The high heat you now get should not effect the timer advance.
At least if I have the correct wiring diagram.

On units which use a mechanical timer a grounded element can stop timer advance in auto cycles.
