I have clothes lodged in the agitator so I am trying to remove the agitator to get them out. I have removed the fabric dispenser, but I cannot remove the dust cap to get to the bolt. It does not have a handle or anything significant enough to grab onto with a pair of pliers. There is a lot of gunk piled up in there too.

It's a GE model? There isn't any bolt, dust cap does not come out. To remove agitator, place strap under it and yank upwards forcefully to pop it off the agitator coupler. Be careful not to hit yourself in the face with it.

Thanks, Eric! Apparently the YouTube I was watching was for a different brand. The agitator popped right out when I pulled on it!
