Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help!

For GE GSR23KSWA:

Having defrost issues. Freezer temp was too warm. Coils were heavily frosted all over.

So, I tested resistance for components in defrost system.
Freezer thermistor resistance good @ 42.2kohms
Defrost heater open.
Replaced dead defrost heater. New Defrost heater works, but I don't think (but can't be sure) that it is starting up automatically. But it will start when activated manually through diagnostics mode '1 4'

After manually defrosting through diagnostics mode, freezer will hold temp (0 degrees) for 24+ hours, but then slowly rises. Again, it seems that the defrost heater is not automatically kicking on.

Onboard diagnostic test results:

0 2: '61 14'
0 3: '64 6'
0 4: P
0 7: P 1; P 2; P 3; P 4; for #5 (the freezer thermistor) I get a P but strangely it's missing the top left LED vertical line that completes the letter 'P' on the display - not sure if this is just a programming glitch.
1 1: I think I hear two fans, first in fresh food (I think), second in freezer. First one sounds a bit broken up (perhaps it's more than one fan?) - not sure what to make of it. It doesn't sound consistent like the freezer fan.

Some other peculiar details:

-Fridge will not get down to targeted 37 degrees. Stays around 41 when freezer is at 0 degrees.
-excessive condensation/moisture at back of fresh food section, pooling on shelves
-the upper left ductwork in fresh food section, leading from freezer, is iced up

Just not sure how to proceed at this point. Are there any other tests I could perform. Is there a definitive test that I could run to confirm that the main board needs to be replaced. It's close to $200, so hoping to be sure before taking a chance that it's not the problem. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.
