When I push start button it turns on but stops immediately. If I hold it down, it will work and heats well. What part is broken?

Here are your parts
Parts for GE DVLR223EE0WW Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

Could one a loose wire.

On the motor there are two centrifugal switches, they activate when the motor gets close to operating speed.

One of them connects in the heater. This ensures that the heater does not come on until there is air flow. This seems to be working so the centrifugal mechanism in the motor is OK.

The other switch has two functions.
It disconnects the motor's start winding as leaving it on would overheat the motor.
It also provides an alternate/parallel circuit around the start switch. This lets you release the start switch and the unit keeps running. Check for a loose or bad wire here. Also clean this area.

If you cannot find a problem then I would say it is a switch problem.
Unfortunately the switch cannot be replaced, the motor must be replaced.
