The ice dispenser switch quit working on our refrigerator and I noticed the ice not working quite right. So I ordered and replaced the control panel which fixed the switch problem, but we noticed the ice wasn't coming out, but was backing up behind the flap.

In looking around, I noticed the solenoid did not seem to contract to hold the flap open. So I replaced the solenoid today and nothing seems to have changed. I put a ohm meter on the solenoid inputs and saw some change. Not sure how much is needed for the solenoid.

Any ideas of what to do next?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a lose connector between the refrigerator and the freezer door. My connector was located below the freezer hinge cover at the top of the refrigerator.
