Hello,
I have a Frigidaire front load washer. (At least I thought it was a Frigidaire , though the tag with Model & Serial ## says "Electrolux.)
Unit was sitting about 8 months with no use because house vacant. (I am in Florida, so no worries about freezing temps.)
I ran the unit empty on a short cycle because I was concerned about it sitting.
Thereafter, unit slowly filled tub with water to the point it trickled out the front. I partially emptied the water by hand, but unit refilled slowly on its own.
I then ran a small quick load and unit ran fine and completely emptied.
However, in three weeks since, unit has slowly begun to fill with water again. It is now about 1/3 the way to filling the drum and spilling out again.
Any advice on what to repair or replace?
Any thoughts on whether it is worth repairing given the age (May 2006) of the unit?
Thanks, Charles.

I think the valve assembly has stuck open slightly from the sitting, probably got some grit in it or just isn't closing fully.
Anyway I would replace the valve assembly, it is an easy fix, the part is not too expensive and if everything else works ok you should be fine.

Thanks.
Do you have the part number for the valve assembly? I assume you sell it?
Also do you have reference to a manual that would show me how to replace it?
Thanks again. Charles

Here is the part for that model Part number: AP3844428
but those of us who respond on this site are volunteers and do not work for APP or their parts operations, so you might want to confirm this with a telephone order. Also if that part does not fix the problem you can return it. Here is a link to the service manual for your model. If you take off the top it should be obvious and fairly easy to replace the assembly. http://www.emaservicetips.com/p...rizontalAxisWasherSM.pdfGood luck

Sidfink43,
I did not realize you were volunteers. Thank you very much for the help.
I'll check out that part.
Charles.
