I received a defrost timer part number 482493
My fridge model is Kenmore 106.9608784

Issue:

New timer has a black wire but the old timer does not have one.
Instructions are not clear what terminal does the black wire go to.
Version 1 and version 2 ans match wiring etc do not help.

I need help to know exactly what terminal the black wire go to SPECIFIC to my fridge.

Please help.

Thanks.

I cannot be much help here as I cannot find a wiring diagram for this unit.
Remove the rear access panel and the front kick plate to see if they have taped it to either the panel or under the unit.
Once you have that it should not be difficult to figure out how to wire in the timer.

Below is a manual which may help you determine how the timer should be wired. You will have to join the site and be logged in to be able to download the manual.

With luck someone else will jump in with either info or a wiring diagram for your unit.
