My wife likes to get clothes completely dry. The sensor has been cutting the cycle off before the clothes are completely dry even on time dry. We had an appliance repair company out and they said there was nothing wrong with the dryer. We not only checked the lint screen between each cycle, the repair man that was out checked for lint in the internals. The vent hose was checked and it is short and goes almost directly through the wall with no obstructions. The repair man told us that it was typical of the new types of energy efficient machines to not dry clothes as dry as the older ones that had no sensor but only a timer.
The problem has been getting worse so that she has to run the clothes 4-5 cycles to get them dry.
My question is: Can the sensor be eliminated or bypassed entirely to make the dryer a time dry cycle only? Mama is not happy!:(

The moisture sensor is not used when dryer is set to timed dry cycle. Problem may be a faulty thermistor, grounded heater element or faulty control board. Unplug dryer. Thermistor, located on blower housing (red wires), should read 11.5-13.5K ohms at 70° (wires disconnected). Check heater element by disconnecting wires from element and checking resistance across heater terminals. Should read 7.8-11.8 ohms. Check each terminal to heater metal enclosure, should read infinity (open).

Eric Eric, I removed the thermistors and brought it to a local parts house and they indicated they were good. When I reinstalled them and plugged the dryer back in it started drying clothes just like it did when new. Is it possible that the circuit board rebooted like it would with a computer and went back to working correctly? Jerry
