I've replaced many appliance belts, but this one has me down. I have the part, can get the front panel off, but don't see a simple way to get to the pulley to put the new belt on. I'm sure it's simple, just don't see it.
From my view, seems I need to dismantle blower unit. Any help out there?

No offense denman, I believe he has a stack unit. The below manual is for a SE1000 but it should work. I believe the model in question is actually a LSE7800 not a 7000. It was a manual control model vs. a electronic control model We may both be wrong, but check out page 3-15 in the below manual and see if that's what your unit looks like.

Hi folks, thanks for your help. It is indeed an lse1000 1991 maytag stackable. tho it is electronically controlled with touch pad.

Tried again today to get belt to the pulley and couldnt figure it out. The diagrams arent really helpful, cause it shows after removing blower unit. Being a little dense, I guess I need more complete directions. I can get the drum assembly off, just can't get passed the fan housing. You know, step 1, step 2.................

Thanks for your interest.

Page 3-15 pretty much shows how the belt goes around the idler and motor pulley. It is hard to get your hands in there to do it, but it's doable. Done many and I have large hands. You don't have to undo anything, ie the blower. The excess loop of the belt goes to the left of the motor pulley and then goes under the motor pulley, with your other hand you have to pull the idler over to the belt and what's left over goes around it. Once again, it's tight quarters working in there but it can be done.

I did look at both manuals and knew it was a stacked unit but thought the problem was that he could not get the belt around the drum so I gave the one that seemed to show how to remove the front drum mounts etc. and hoped it would be close to the stacked unit.

PS: Frank / App Team, No offense taken. I probably should have included both manuals with my post.

Lonsum-

I just replaced the belt om my Maytag lsg7804aam - you need to remove the cover over the blower fan, and the 4 bolts that hold the front of the drum - then take the drum itself out - bottom line is you have to get to the motor shaft and pulley to thread the belt around them and the drum - its not really that hard - be careful with the clips on the blower.:)

Now for my request! --

When I took the front off the dryer I let it go a little too far and unplugged some of the wires that control the washer - I think I got the red and yellow back where they should be but cannot figure out where to connect the purple one - I have looked everywhere I can on the washer timer and unit and this is baffling me!! I wish I had taken a pic of this before things got unplugged - The washer fills but does not start to agitate:(. Did you take a pic or can you suggest anything??

Thanks
