We purchased a new home last fall which had a brand new refrigerator but it was out of warranty already. Within a month, we found a puddle of water on the floor and there was 1/2 inch thick sheet of ice on the bottom on the refrigerator under the freezer drawer. We defrosted and it happened again. We need to remove this ice at least monthly if not more. We also know at least 3 people personally who also have this same problem and never solved it. I called Whirlpool but they said they never heard of it. Please help?

We cannot remove the top basket in the freezer to reach the back panel. We have removed the two screws toward the front of the basket but it still won't come out. Is there a secret to this?
