My refrigerator top and bottom are way too cold. I have it the encoder set to freezer 1, fridge 3. that gives me a temp of -15f and 33f. This is after a defrost cycle. Afterwards, the temp slowly rises, because frost is building up on the evap coils. So I have to adjust the encoder, if not the temps keep rising...to 10f and 42f. Then a defrost cycle kicks in, melts the frost and repeats this vicious cycle. All my thermistor have been replaced. My mainboard is new, as well as both fan motors, and defrost thermostat and heater.

If you have a meter, you can check the thermistors at the J1 connector on the motherboard. J1- 5, common, to J1-1 to J1-4. You may have an open connection to the ff thermistor.

I have a meter. I take it I should check for continuity between J5 and J1-J4, is that correct?

I think the resistance from J1-5 to J1-4 is the evaporator, J1-5 to J1-1 and J1-2 are the ff thermistors, check your schematic behind the encoder.
