The dryer will not heat. I'd like to get to the heating element to check it. The top has been popped off, the door removed, the belt off the tension pulley. I don't see how to get the back panel or the drum off.

With the top hinged back, you should see a screw in each upper corner holding the front on. Once the front is removed, the drum will come out by popping it out of the socket that holds it in the back. Visualize a ball and socket, the ball is attached to the back side of the drum. The socket is mounted to the back of the dryer cabinet. Behind the drum you will find the heating element. Below is a picture of the element. Part number: AP2134386

Heating element was broken. Must have been rubbing against the rotating drum. Which explains why the squeaking stopped the same day the heat stopped
