The vent fan stopped working on my Kitchen aid Microwave model KHMS2050SSS.
I have replaced the control board and the Base Thermostat and the vent is still not working.
I checked the two power resistors with the following results that appear to be in spec
41 ohm/50W - received 41 ohms
20 ohm/25W - received 20 ohms
I checked the Fan Motor with the following results that appear in spec
Pins 1 and 2 - received 18 ohms
Pins 1 and 3 - received 21 ohms
When I press the On button and cycle through High, Medium, Low and Off I can hear a click at the control board with each press of the button.
What other components can there be a problem with that I can check that may have failed?

i'm having the same problem. the low high and off buttons make a sound when when pressing but no vent...it does turn on at times when i give it a good bang though. not sure what it could be since i cleaned all the connectors that had oil buildup...

thanks for the suggestion jim. the thing is almost 20yrs old so i may just replace the whole thing if it acts up again.

it was working fine until my moth-in-law sprayed some cleaner down the microwave vent. then it only worked intermittently. i figured this along with years of oil build up gunked up the fan so i boiled two pots of water hoping the steam would help to dissolve some of that.

it's working ok now going on two days now! lol know on wood! (mdf)

Gave it a good couple of bangs, and vent worked again. Problem started when I had multiple burners on and severely overheated the appliance. Hope this is a long term fix:)
