Dryer starts, then stops within two seconds. Will start with start button immediately, but stops agin in 2 seconds. WIll restart many times, but fails to continue running. ONLY IF I HOLD THE START BUTTON, it will make an odd noise and thermal out, not starting again for a few minutes. BUt, just hitting the start buton will start, release the button annd it stops within 2 secs, and this can be done repeatedly. Loosening the belt on the motor pulley does not change anything.

Evidently the starter windings were good, but the Run windings were bad. A new exact replacement motor solved the problem.
