Element is staying on whether the door is open or not, but it will not tumble. To turn the element off I turn timer to off. Door switch? I t clicks when I put it and sounds like it is working.

Faulty motor. Centrifugal switch mechanism not working most likely do to broken springs or spring retainers worn through or possibly excessive lint buildup in motor preventing mechanism from working.
