I am replacing the drum bearings on my LG Front Load Washer. The inner bearing came out intact but the outer fell apart when I tried to drive it out. All that is left is the outer race. I have soaked it in PB Blaster and tried to catch the edge with a screwdriver, punch and impact socket. It will not budge. I only have about 1/16" to work with around the edge. Should I try a gear puller next, or is it possible it is just welded in?

Thanks for any advice,

Brian

10 years later, I need the answer to this question. Did you ever fix it? I've done the same with both inner and outer bearings.

It may not be practical for you to get it but if you can get some dry ice and pack it in the bearing race until it melts it may shrink it enough to allow you to knock it out of the bore.
