My dryer never turns off we have to manually turn it off
It heats perfect. Do I need a new timer?

If timer advances normally during the cycle but won't advance enough to shut the dryer off at end of cycle, then yes, the problem is most likely the timer.

Does it do this in both timed dry and auto cycles?

If yes then this is another clue that it is a timer problem.
