Already fixed the plugged drain!!! now I am getting ice in the freezer and on the evaporator coils. So I assume it's either the freezer thermistor, thermostat or the heater? Any other options? As a side note I have the freezer temp set at +6 and it's still way cold in the freezer!

This seems to be the freezer thermistor (+harness) Whirlpool W10196195 Harns-Wire - AppliancePartsPros.com

Any idea on what the thermostat part is? I cannot find it for the freezer.

Help appreciated. I am a novice. Any manuals or tips to help me troubleshoot appreciated.

14F or -10c. I have it set to 6 on the display.

I checked the temp with the fridge which is accurate with the 39 on the readout.

Most probable problem is the defrost thermostat, assuming the evaporator coils freeze up evenly.

I am having trouble locating the thermostat. I was told W10165425 is the thermostat Whirlpool W10165425 Bimetl-Def - AppliancePartsPros.com but the model number check fails. Any ideas?

Should I also be trying to check continuity on other parts like heater etc?

And thank you for helping!
