My washer agitates but it doesn't drain when it gets to rinse cycle. Bottom line is it doesn't drain or spin and it makes some whining noise when it suppose to drain. First I tested the lid switch and the test was fine so I decided to replace the drain pump, but unfortunately the problem persist. Another thing I check was I removed the drain pump from the motor to check if the motor will spin in the draining process but it didn't turn. Please help me. Should I just go ahead and replace the lid switch instead?

What is the model number of the washer? If motor doesn't rotate in drain/spin, where is the whining noise coming from?

Thanks for your reply, I'm sorry I couldn't fine the model number until Sears just provided that to me, anyway the model number is 11015962400. I actually don't know exactly where the noise coming from, but I know it comes from around where the motor is, and it makes noise for about 15 secs and it cuts off, and it comes back on like every minute

You will need to remove the cabinet and bypass the lid switch. Remove motor and set it on floor with wiring still hooked up. See if it will run in spin direction. If it just hums you probably have a bad timer. If it does run, rotate gearcase input shaft by hand in the clockwise direction. It will be a little difficult but should cause the basket to spin.
