Our refrigerator has stopped maintaining the temp we want in the freezer. At first we thought that the defrost timer had gone, so we have replaced it. It is still doing the same thing. The compressor is running for a period of time, shutting off then not starting for a long period of time. Usually when this happens, the freezer temp ranges between 30 and 35 degrees before it will restart. I can get the compressor to start when I turn the temp in the refrigerator down and back up. We have left the refrigerator unplugged overnight thinking it needed a manual defrost. This did not work. Searching online gives a wide variety of answers. We have moved the unit from the kitchen to the garage and planned on using it to replace a unit that is over 20 years old and is considerably less energy efficent than this one. Thanks in advance for your help.
