My washing machine seems to work fine on every cycle, except the spin cycle. The machine will spin fine and seems to be draining but instead it is actually taking the water it is supposed to be draining from the tub and it fills the tub again. I've looked through many forums to find an answer and almost everyone said drain pump so I changed the drain pump. I even removed the drain hose to make sure it wasn't clogged and it still does the same thing. The way I figured it was recycling the water from the tub is I stopped all water source to the machine and when I started a wash no water would come into the tub. My hopes was that since I stopped water from coming into the machine, when I put it on spin cycle it would drain whatever was in left in the tub, to my surprise when I switched it to the spin cycle all this water was filling the tub as it was spinning and very little water was coming out of the drain pipe. So it's taking the water from the tub and filling it again instead of draining out. Does anyone know what I could check next?

Does the washer eventually drain the water at the very end of the cycle? If so, what you are seeing is normal operation of this water saver washer. If it never drains, then you most likely have a faulty diverter valve. Remove cabinet, valve is on left rear mounted to rear panel.

The water doesn't drain completely during the spin cycle, it'll drain about half the water and the other half it'll return to the tub through the top. What I meant by working normal is every other portion of the wash works well, the initial filling of the tub, the agitation, the spinning (it actually spins). I checked the belts, pulled off the drain hose to see if it was clogged, I tried all sorts of things and I figured it had to be something that was blocking the water from draining during the spin causing it to return to the tub during a spin cycle but I didn't know what part or where it was located.

Thank you for the advice, I will try your suggestion. Is the part fairly easy to replace? I can't seem to find any video's on the internet showing me an example of how it's done.

It's not supposed to drain completely until the very end of the spin cycle. This is a water saver model that uses a series of spray rinses rather than the traditional deep rinse. After agitation, some of the water is drained but the rest is recirculated to be sprayed onto the spinning clothes for about 30 seconds. The water is drained while fresh water is allowed in to repeat this cycle of spray rinses. At the very end, all water should be drained out of the washer and spin should be completed. If water is being drained out of the machine, then the diverter valve is working. You say you checked the belts but this washer does not have any belts so I don't know what you were checking.
