My Frigidaire Gallery (GLEQ2152ES1) front-loading dryer has some issues. I am moderate-advanced withrepairing dryers; but this one has me stumped!
First thing I did was test the cutoff fuse, of course. That was closed. Door switch NC and NO both closed when switched. So...I bought a motor. Replaced it. Nothing...
Well, I don't know what the heck it could be!? The control board is about the only thing left! Isn't it? The motor is not grounded out, either. And the heating element DOES come on, it just does not tumble.
STUMPED! HELP PLZ!

Definitely should not be heating if motor is not running. If it is, you have a grounded heater coil. Check voltages into and out of control board to determine if motor is not getting power due to bad control board.

You know, you are right! It shouldn't be heating while motor is not running the power runs thru a switch ON the motor and only closes the circuit when the motor is running I think right? So maybe this is a wiring issue..
I don't know how to properly check the voltage...I know there is a wire coming in for power, one going out to the element, one to the door switch, a ground, and then another 110v wire coming in. I really am no good at reading voltimeters properly I need to research some more on that I guess and dig a little deeper. I am going to be so angry if it is a wiring issue and I bought a $120 control board, & a $134 motor....luckily I can return the motor but this has just been a huge pain in the ass and I'm over it.

Yes, the motor switch completes the heater circuit when motor is running. I doubt it's a wiring issue, it's more likely that the heater coil is grounded. i.e. touching the metal heater assembly which would place 120vac across part of the coil. It wouldn't get as hot as having 240vac across the whole coil but it would get hot depending on where it's grounded. This would not prevent the motor from running however, so you may still have a bad control board.

Okay...upon further inspection...The element is not coming on. I had thought it did in a previous attempt at jacking with it but maybe I was mistaken. I took the drum out, inspecting all wiring, everything seems to be in tact. Took control board apart and inspected for burns/& such. Nothing. But the element is not coming on, the motor is not coming on, and I hot wired the cutoff fuse still the same story...the motor is BRAND new from this site. It has to be the control board doesn't it? I ordered a refurbished one from some overseas place cuz it was almost a hundred dollars cheaper than this site's but hopefully it works alright. I get it Monday.
