We first noticed our refrigerator/freezer malfunctioning after waking up to find that most of the food on the freezer side had defrosted. Initially we didn't notice any difference on the refrigerator side. Family friend's father does repair on the side and immediately resigned to the idea that the control board was malfunctioning. During the replacement of the board he noted the evaporator fan while running didn't seem to be running strong. The board was replaced and the freezer seemed to be working at 100%.
The refrigerator side began to warm up and got as high as mid 60's. I checked the coils and at no time were they frozen. At best there was a light frost on them. At this point I thought maybe the damper control door was not opening when it needed to cool the refrigerator side. I then replaced the thermistor on the refrigerator side seeing as it was a relatively inexpensive part and I could eliminate that.
After measuring the temperatures on both sides the refrigerator won't get any colder than 55 and the freezer side holds at about 10 degrees. It doesn't seem to matter what temp setting I put it on.
My next inclination is to replace the evaporator fan however its a pretty expensive part to make a guess on replacing if I am wrong.
I'm hoping you guys can help us out so we aren't endlessly picking parts to replace.
Thanks so much!

Did you ever find out what was truly wrong? I'm having the same issue.
