I did some reading on this and it said to check the resistance. I did and it was like 27 ohms or something like that on the element. I checked to make sure it was getting voltage and when the oven is on I am reading 120v on each spade connector. So the only thing I couldn't find anything on was the crackling so I ordered a replacement element. I put it in today and it didn't fix the thing. I'm all out of ideas at this point.

from spade to spade you should have 240v.

check the wiring to the control board and make shure you dont have any burnt terminals.

Everything on the back looked ok. I measured between 2v and 4v with my multimeter when I touched one terminal to one spade. I read 0v when I put one terminal on each spade. I'm guessing that is the issue?

If you werent getting 240 across the bake element when bake was engaged I would suspect either a bad Control or an open limiter (if the broil is also dead and freestanding units dont always have them either.)

The broil function works fine when bake is engaged. If I follow the spades back to the first relay or whatever I find will that be the control? I did this when I had the back off and the wires went into one of thesehttp://www.mouser.com/Se...skTvQN/e5J1EOhXCA%3D%3D.

So the broiler is on when the bake is running? Does the Bake run when Broil is engaged? if so the yellow and blue wires may be backwards. And yes that would be a relay that would run the bake and broil..
