We keep our chest freezer in the garage. It has gotten REALLY cold here this winter and we are starting to have problems with it. At first there was frost build up and this week we noticed that ice cream melted and the sausage and ham steaks defrosted.

From searching we learned it was the temp in the garage that is the issue. We DO have a vent in the garage where we can heat the it but was trying to save money by closing it off.

What can I do to fix this situation? Completely defrost and see if it starts working again?
