We bought the washer new and used it about a year then put it in storage for for about a year and a half. Got it out of storage and have been using since June. Last week the display said E58. Googled and found a tech sheet that said to do test 11 removed belt and motor spins nice and free and pulley spins nice and free.....measuring resistance we get 3.5 ohms across pins 1-2, 1.8 ohms across pins 2-3 and 1.8 ohms across pins 1-3. Out of curiosity I measured pins 4-5 and get 115 ohms. Tech sheet said we should have between 4-6 ohms on all pins between 1 and 3 or the motor is bad. Took the motor to a local appliance refurbisher yesterday and while he proceeded to tell me that front loader washers are the worst thing since well ever.....he ran his meter across the pins and got the same readings I did but said he would replace the control board because motors do not typically fail and spin as smooth as this one does. I need to order parts but wanted the opinion of others before I go buy the more expensive part with the chance that my motor is indeed good. What do you guys think?
