As stated, burner works oven doesn't.

Pretty handy with a volt meter, so if somebody can point me in the right direction I can check voltages. I can't read the fine print on the associated wiring diagrams to trace voltages myself.

I think the oven-broiler on/off selector with associated thermostat may be the problem since 120 V goes in but not out when just oven range is selected. On the other hand when broiler is selected 120 V goes in and out of the selector.
