Just relaized that i selected less than 1 year. Unit is greater than 10 years old.

KitchenAid fridge/freezer decided to die (hopefully temporarily) on me this past weekend. Wife and I did the scramble drill and salvaged what we could, but what a pain in the A$$.

Fridge / Freezer / Ice Machine has been working with minimal issues over the past few years. When powered on, the light inside the unit functions normally and it sounds like the motor is running but there isn’t any cold air getting circulated. I can hear the "clicking" sound (did some reading from other users who had similar issues) when you turn the unit on before the motor starts.

Note: The air in the unit is not cold/cool, it is room temp/hot.

Any thoughts on where to start?

Thanks,
Mike

Check that the fan in the freezer is running. You may have to holds the door switch closed to do this.

if it is running.
Pull the unit away from the wall.
Remove the rear cover so you can get to the compressor etc.
Check trhat the condenser/compressor fan is on.

Here is a good site with basic info on fridges

If yes.
Check that the compressor is on.
You can usually hear it but should also be able to feel it.

Is the clicking sound coming from the compressor/start device.
If yes it could be a bad start device or a bad compressor.
