Model Number: PSS26SGPA SS Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years Found freezer door cracked open and thawed, no compressor noise, interior lights work, no cold in either freezer or refrigerator, sounds like a blower up top is running and in back-bottom a cylinder with a fan on the end is blowing. All digital controls are lit and change be changed. I was on another forum but want a second opinion. This is what I was asked to perform; See if you have 120 VAC between J8 and J7-9 on the motherboard. If your meter has a 10A setting try to direct start the compressor by touching one meter lead to J8 and the other lead to J11 (LINE) These are the results I got; Here are results, J8 (Comp) = 11.1, J9 (Defrost) = 9.5, J11 (Line) = 120, No, no jump start with meter set at 10A between J11 and J8/Comp., did read 121V, there has been a fan sound up in the top that is running and as mentioned earlier the interior lights work so all is not dead. Also the cylinder at bottom in back about 12 inch long and 6 inch around or so has a fan at the end which is turning. Digital temperature control panels work also. ~Mike

Remove the motherboard in the back and check for bad solder joints.
