Hello. I have a whirlpool washing machine. We bought it in late 2006. The other day the washer worked fine, and then after the following wash it ceased working. Presently the "door locked" light is on, but when I push the control button nothing happens. I have unplugged it, hoping that a reset might resolve this. Nothing so far.
btw, there are no f-codes appearing in the readout screen.
Any ideas?
As a follow up, I plugged the machine back in, the door locked light was still on. I then tried pushing the 3 main buttons simultaneously-- Control, Start, Cancel. The readout came on, and the heavy-duty light along the cycle-selector dial was blinking, and the read out showed 0:50, and was also blinking. The selector was set on whitest whites. I then hit the cancel button, and everything went back to the door locked light was lit. I tried just tapping the control button-- nothing. So, the three button push, and same-- the heavy duty light and 0:50 came back up, blinking. I then selected another cycle setting, and tried again. Heavy duty was still lit and blinking. I went through this 3-4 times, trying different settings each time. I cannot get the machine to light up/activate without pushing the 3 main buttons, simultaneously. I did try to run a "dry" cycle (with no clothes in), and it would not start.
Ok-- my wife just pointed out that the "control locked" light is lit. Not the "door locked."
My apologies.....

The tech notes on this model are under the top cover and they will show you how to run diagnostics.
Of course if the problem is with the control unit than the diagnostics will not run. In that case try replacing the main control unit. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it.
