Hi All:
I have a GE oven that when you set it to bake and set a temp it starts to heat up but then gets stuck at a fairly low temp around 275 degrees. When I turn it to broil the oven gets hot and when I turn it to clean it gets extremely hot. I've read a bunch of threads and it sounds like it is the heating element. Thoughts?

I have a similar problem. Mine will preheat to the right temp, but won't maintain the right temp. If I set it to 450, it will get close to that, then drop to somewhere around 250. If I turn the knob to off, then set it back to 450, it will get to 450-ish again once. I have to keep resetting it like that every 5 - 10 minutes to cook anything. Need to know if that sounds like thermostat or control board. ??

I had the same problem.
The service man replaced the igniter and the problem was fixed.
