The upper element in our Whirlpool electric oven is not heating. I replaced the element on the off chance it was worn out with no success. Resistance through the upper element reads as expected ~20 Ohms. When the oven is in either bake or broil mode, the upper element reads 120V between the element connection and ground. The fuse appears to be in good shape. The temperature probe appears to be in good shape (the oven holds temperature in Bake mode with the lower element doing all of the heating).
I suspect the next area to look into is the control panel. Advice?

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool RF262LXSB0 Range - AppliancePartsPros.comYes, next would be the control board. I would check that the wiring to the broil element is OK before replacing the control. When you say "The fuse appears to be in good shape." I am assuming that you checked the fuse (item 17 in section 03) with a meter and it was 0 ohms. |
