Viking 30" stand alone stove-oven won't open more than 1/3 of the way.
I found your photos of the latch release, but they show the oven door in the open position.
How do you release the latch if you can't fully open the oven door?

if the oven is locked as a result of the self clean latch then you wouldn't be able to open it at all, or maybe have an inch or less of play is latch is bad and loosely hooked. if you can open 1/3 of the way you need new hinges.
