I just bought a used GE side by side fridge. Model # GSS27RGPABB. It is not cooling properly. The fridge is at 45-47 degrees F and freezer is 30 degrees F. The man I bought it from says it may need freon (he is not a tech). But upon further investigation my husband sd the fan in the freezer is not running or blowing. He took the back panel inside of freezer off and it is icey and the fan isn't spinning. Just want to make sure these symptoms would be leading me to purchasing the right part... an evaporator fan motor. Is this what you would think?

If the evaporator coils have heavy frost all over and the freezer fan motor fails to run, for starts, you must replace the motherboard in the back and the evaporator motor. If you have a spot, digital thermometer, measure the evaporator coil temperature, should be below zero.
