My 10 year old, her first time being "allowed" to do dishes, was doing a fine job until she started fooling around with the dog over her head, stepped back, and tripped and fell onto the door and lower rack. She and the dog are OK, luckily, but the door isn't so great. It looks fine from the outside, closes OK (a little more effort than usual), and seals and washes completely without leaking. I'm guessing it's the hinges, but I guess it could be cables as well. As you can see in the picture, the handle almost touches the floor, but not quite.

Luckily, the "stainless steel" doesn't appear dimpled anywhere. The plastic where it attaches to the door looks like it might be very slightly farther apart than it used to if you picture it as being at the "bottom" of the inside of the door if it were closed.

Any advice is appreciated. I know this has to be a super common occurrence... well maybe not the exact details. BTW, I had to laugh myself sick over it eventually, but the wife was absolutely not amused! :D

Did new hinges work for you. I now have the same issue. Looked at hinges after removing the door cover. Looks good t me. The huge hits the what I think is the normal stop. I have close to the same angle as this photo. Puzzling. I suppose ordering hinges is the next step???

While hinges didn't make it like new again, they did make it significantly better... to the point where the wife doesn't whine, and the lower dish rack doesn't roll off the door when it is full. I actually got some dirt cheap off a certain auction site that were used, but in perfect condition.
