The bake element in my brother's oven burned out and melted inside the oven. This caused a bad burn mark on the ceramic finish. I attached a photo to this post -- you can see the ugly burn splotch right underneath the melted bake element. So instead of the nice shiny grey polished ceramic finish, the ceramic burned away and is now black. The repairman who fixed the oven is excellent :) , but my brother did not want to pester him about how to fix this burn mark. What do you guys think? Should we bother fixing it? Do they make some sort of interior ceramic oven paint? Or is this best just left alone? Thank you Carrie23 attached the following image(s):

You could Google "oven ceramic paint" You need something that will be able to withstand high temperatures. Very high temperatures if this is a self clean oven.
I personally would not bother. I would put a light coating of vegetable oil on the spot after each cleaning of the oven. This should help prevent any rusting. |
